As a leading SS 310 welded tubes supplier, we supply reliable SS 310/310S welded tubing designed from high chromium and nickel austenitic grades. These alloys provide excellent oxidation resistance and structural stability at high temperatures. Our welded tubes perform reliably in furnaces, petrochemical plants, power plants and heat treatment systems and are subjected to continual heat. We manufacture tubes for structural, process, and thermal service lines under strict quality control, meeting global requirements while providing complete traceability and documentation. Global clients rely on our inspection systems, mechanical testing, and export-ready supply capability.
What is SS 310 & 310S Welded Tubing?
SS 310 (UNS S31000) and SS 310S (UNS S31008) are heat-resistant austenitic stainless steels designed for high-temperature applications. These tubes are formed by rolling a stainless steel strip into cylindrical shapes and longitudinal welding. Then these tubes are heat-treated and finished to attain dimensional correctness. 310S welded tube has less carbon than 310, which reduces carbide precipitation during welding and increases corrosion resistance, as it improves both weldability and long-term structural integrity. Chromium resists oxidation at high temperatures, whereas nickel enhances strength and phase stability during thermal stress. SS 310 welded tubes and SS 310S welded tubes meet ASTM A249 and A269 standards, ensuring consistent mechanical and chemical performance for heat exchanger and process applications.
Benefits of Stainless 310, 310S Welded Tubes
High-temperature environments require stable metallurgy and reliable weld integrity. These grades maintain strength even when exposed to continuous thermal cycles and oxidising atmospheres.
The benefits of SS 310 welded tubes and 310S welded tubing are:
- Excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures for long-term use.
- Improved heat resistance to 1100°C in regulated conditions.
- Prevent creep resistance and maintain strength at high temperatures.
- Excellent weldability, especially in the 310S grade, allows for easy fabrication.
- Resists thermal cycling after repeated heating and cooling.
- Good corrosion resistance in light industrial applications.
- Austenitic structure that remains stable after prolonged durations in the furnace.
- Long life in high-temperature processing systems
- Welded construction is cost-effective and performs well under high temperatures.

Industrial Applications of 310 & 310S Welded Tubes
SS 310 and 310S welded tubes operate where heat exposure remains constant and material stability becomes critical. Furnace components such as radiant tubes, burners, and heat shields rely on their oxidation resistance. Heat treatment equipment uses them for retorts and muffles that undergo temperature cycles every day. In petrochemical processing units, these tubes are used in cracking systems and reformer lines that are subjected to high temperatures. Power plants use them in boiler sections and heat exchanger assemblies to handle both high pressure and high heat at the same time. Cement and steel industries use them in kiln systems and thermal ducts where scaling resistance reduces maintenance frequency. Performance under heat defines their value.

FAQs
In SS 310S, most applications do not require post-weld heat treatment due to its low carbon content, which minimises carbide precipitation. However, service conditions may dictate specific heat treatment based on design codes.
Furnace manufacturing, petrochemical plants, power generation units, cement production, and heat treatment facilities widely use these tubes for high-temperature service.
Yes. The high chromium content produces a protective oxide layer that resists scale and oxidation at temperatures as high as 1100°C in high-temperature environments.
