Technical Details & Delivery Condition
Nickel 200 is one of the purest forms of commercially available nickel alloys as its chemical composition mainly consists of 99.6% nickel. In addition to nickel, trace elements which is present in specified proportions according to ASTM standards include iron (≤0.40%), manganese (≤0.35%), copper (≤0.25%), carbon (≤0.15%), sulfur (≤0.01%), and silicon (≤0.35%). These features of the uns n02200 material ensure stability, protect against embrittlement during welding, and enable the material to maintain its formability and corrosion resistance.

Nickel 200 pipes remain exceptionally strong and flexible, thus they can be used in a wide range of temperature and cryogenic conditions. The UNS N02200 pipe can hold up to 340 MPa of tensile strength and 105 MPa of yield strength. The pipes can bend without breaking as it can stretch by at least 40% in 50 mm. Nickel alloy 200 is usually about 60 HRB hard, which means it is tough and easy to work with. These mechanical qualities meet ASTM B160 criteria, which means it will work the same way in all industries that need high purity and reliability.

To meet various industrial applications, nickel 200 pipes are available in wide range of sizes. Nominal bore sizes, with different wall thicknesses and schedules are included in the nickel 200 pipe size chart. Depending on the requirements of the installation, these pipes can be provided in normal, double random or custom cut lengths, with threaded, beveled, or plain ends.

Manufacturing Process of Nickel Alloy 200 Pipes
The production of nickel 200 pipes includes the utilization of high-purity nickel billets (for seamless) or plates/strips (for welded). Seamless pipes are hot-extruded, and then cold-drawn or pilgered to obtain accurate dimensions, whereas welded pipes are rolled from nickel strips and welded with TIG/MIG welding. After-weld sizing, heat treatment (annealing) and finishing are performed to improve ductility and dimensional tolerance. Each pipe goes through rigorous quality inspections before shipment.

UNS N02200 Pipe Applications
Due to its purity and chemical stability, Nickel 200 tubing is widely used in high-processing industries. The major industries include chemical processing, production of caustic soda, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, marine systems, and electronics. Common industrial applications of the nickel alloy 200 are heat exchanger tubing, high-purity fluid transfer, chloride-free piping networks, and vacuum systems used at high or cryogenic temperatures.
Nickel Alloy 200 pipes undergo testing and certified to meet the ASME SB161 pipe specifications and any other relevant ASTM standards. Technicians use Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods such Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current Testing (ECT), Hydrostatic Testing, and visual inspection. Positive Material Identification (PMI) verifies the chemical analysis and each batch comes with a UNS N02200 Mill Test Certificate (MTC) that meets EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2. We are also compliant with ISO 9001:2015, and PED standards, guaranteeing that every pipe is up to international quality standards.
Nickel 200 pipes are maintained in ready stock to support critical project timelines. We provide cut-to-length processing and limited MOQ assistance for special applications. Packaging is done with plastic end caps, bubble wrapping, wooden crates, or fumigated boxes according to export norms. Being a nickel 200 pipe stockist in India, we offer timely delivery with all requisite documentation, such as heat numbers, test certificates, and shipment tracking.

FAQs – Nickel Alloy 200 Pipes (UNS N02200)
Nickel 200 pipes are manufactured in accordance with ASTM B161 for seamless pipes and ASTM B725 for welded pipes. It also meets ASME SB 161 specifications for applications involving high-purity and pressure pipes. These standards outline the dimensional, mechanical, and testing requirements to ensure reliable operation in difficult environments.
Yes, TIG, MIG, and resistance welding techniques can be used to weld nickel 200 pipes. To preserve the purity of the alloy and avoid carbon pickup, proper joint preparation, low heat input and regulated cooling are recommended . When done properly, welded joints maintain exceptional strength and resistance to corrosion.
Yes, Nickel 200 offers superior resistance to alkaline solutions such as sodium hydroxide, and caustic soda. In highly reducing circumstances its high nickel concentration (≥99.6%) inhibits chemical deterioration and stress cracking. It is therefore perfect for alkali producing facilities, and caustic handling systems.
International schedules such as SCH 5, SCH 40 and SCH 80 are met by nickel 200 pipes, which are available in various wall thicknesses and diameters (from small-bore to large-bore). A nickel 200 pipe size chart is supplied to assist customers in choosing the appropriate measurements for their applications and custom sizes can also be produced.
