Nickel 201 Pipe Types & Available Forms
Manufacturing Types
-
Seamless PipeManufactured by hot extrusion or cold drawing of nickel billets, these pipes offer superior strength, uniformity, and reliability. The absence of weld seams reduces the risk of leaks and enhances their performance under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions.
-
Welded PipeThese pipes are made by rolling and welding nickel strips or plates with one another. It is best for applications that don't require a lot of pressure or are not very demanding. It is a cost-effective option that is available in different sizes and has adequate dimensional accuracy.
-
ERW PipeERW pipes are made from cold-formed coils that are welded together with high-frequency welding. It is suitable for both small and large-scale production. These pipes have a consistent wall thickness and are often used in ordinary industrial systems where efficiency and consistency are essential.
Pipe Forms
-
Round PipeThe most common pipe shape, preferred for fluid and gas transportation in pipelines, process systems, and chemical industries due to its even pressure distribution.
-
Square PipeDesigned for structural frameworks and support systems, square pipes offer excellent stability and are commonly used in construction, fabrication, and equipment reinforcement.
-
Rectangular PipePerfect for compact installations or spaces, these pipes deliver a streamlined profile while being strong and functional in design-based systems.
-
U-Bend/Coil PipeOften utilized in heat exchangers, condensers, and thermal fluid systems, these pipes enable efficient heat transfer and minimize the number of joints in complex layouts.

Technical Details & Delivery Condition
Nickel 201 (UNS N02201) is a wrought, commercially pure, low-carbon nickel alloy with high corrosion resistance and high thermal stability. The product offers high purity and reliable service in various environments due to its carefully controlled composition. The following table indicates the typical element percentages as specified by ASTM standards.
| Nickel 201 | Ni | C | Mo | Mn | Si | Fe | P | S | Cu | Cr |
| Balance | 0.15 max | – | 0.35 max | 0.35 max | 0.40 max | – | 0.01 max | 0.25 max | – |
UNS N02201 tensile strength provide moderate tensile and yield strength ideal for piping systems, with high elongation percentage allowing easy fabrication. They maintain stable mechanical properties from cryogenic to elevated temperatures. With low hardness in the Rockwell B range, machining is simple. These values align with ASTM B160/B161 mechanical standards.
| Density | Melting Point | Yield Strength (0.2%Offset) | Tensile Strength | Elongation |
| 8.9 g/cm3 | 1446 °C (2635 °F) | Psi – 21500 , MPa – 148 | Psi – 67000 , MPa – 462 | 45 % |
Nickel Alloy 201 is designated as UNS N02201 and corresponds to European grade W.Nr 2.4068. It is supplied under ASTM and ASME standards B160, B161 and B725. DIN, BS, and JIS equivalents are also available upon request. Minor differences may exist between international standards.

Nickel Alloy 201 Pipes Applications
Nickel 201 pipes undergo through a lot of tests, such as non-destructive (UT, RT and Eddy Current), and mechanical (tensile, hardness, flattening and flare tests). Spectrometry-based chemical analysis verifies the quality certification of each batch of UNS N02201. We provide Mill Test Certificates (EN 10204 3.1/3.2), with heating temperature, and customers can ask for third-party inspections (TÜV, DNV, BV, SGS) to be done. All of the products meet the requirements set by ISO 9001:2015, PED and ASTM, which indicates that reliable methods are used to test nickel 201 pipes.
Midland Alloys Inc. has a ready inventory of usual sizes, and thicknesses available for immediate shipment. Special lengths, and negotiable MOQs are available to domestic and international customers. The packaging includes HDPE wrapping, capped ends, wooden crates, and seaworthy boxes. We export to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Europe, Malaysia, Singapore and the USA with full documentation, logistic support, and traceability of materials.
