SMO 254 Flanges Manufacturer
Midland Alloys Inc. is a trusted Indian manufacturer and global supplier of stainless steel flanges, offering premium-grade SMO 254 Flanges for critical applications. High-alloy austenitic stainless steel SMO 254 (UNS S31254 / 6Mo), which is renowned for its remarkable mechanical strength and resistance to corrosion, is used to make these flanges. Being a top manufacturer of ASTM A812 SMO 254 Flanges we create flanges that satisfy ANSI B16.5, B16.47 and B16.48 as well as other national and international quality standards. These flanges’ high levels of chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen improve their resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Our Long Weld Neck Flanges, Slip on Flanges and SMO 254 Threaded Flange all function dependably in environments with high temperatures and a lot of chloride.
Benefits of Using 254 SMO Flange

Difference Between Stainless Steel SMO 254 Flanges and Stainless Steel 253MA Flanges
SMO 254 Flanges (UNS S31254) and Stainless Steel 253MA Flanges differ primarily in chemical composition and corrosion resistance. Higher molybdenum, nitrogen, and chromium concentrations in SMO 254 provide better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. In contrast to 253MA which is intended for high-temperature oxidation resistance but has a limited tolerance for chloride corrosion it performs remarkably well in saltwater and chemical environments. While 253MA is preferred for heat treatment equipment and furnace components, SMO 254 has a higher tensile strength and is better suited for critical offshore, desalination and petrochemical application.

Applications of ASTM A182 SMO 254 Flanges
ASTM A182 SMO 254 Flanges are widely applied in aggressive environments where high resistance to corrosion and strength is required. They are widely employed in chemical processing, particularly in systems that work with saline or acidic solutions. These flanges are essential for piping systems exposed to seawater and sour gas in the oil and gas industry. Because of their durability they can be used in desalination plants, offshore platforms and marine engineering. Because of its exceptional resistance to corrosion and cracking from chloride stress and its high durability, SMO 254 is also the preferred material for heat exchangers, pressure vessels and flue gas desulfurization units.
