Nickel Alloy Forged Fittings Specification
Nickel Alloy Forged Fittings vs Monel Forged Fittings
High purity, exceptional corrosion resistance in caustic and reducing media, and exceptional thermal stability are all provided by nickel alloy forged fittings particularly those made of nickel alloy 200 and 201. Monel Forged Fittings typically composed of nickel and copper provide exceptional resistance to saltwater and hydrofluoric acid but can be less stable in oxidizing environments. Monel works well in chemical and marine industries where there is a greater exposure to chlorides, but Nickel Alloy 200/201 is recommended for high-temperature and high-purity applications. Both differ in microstructure, workability, and cost, making alloy selection application-specific.

Applications of Nickel Alloy Forged Fittings

Nickel Alloy Forged Fittings serve as high-performance connectors across a wide range of industries where strength and corrosion resistance are essential. They are utilized in high-pressure manifolds, valves, separators, and upstream and downstream piping in the oil and gas industry, particularly in sour gas environments. These fittings manage reactive media in reactors and transfer pipelines during chemical processing. Because of their resistance to thermal fatigue the aerospace industry uses them in engine exhausts and turbine assemblies. In power generation, they’re applied in superheater coils, heat exchangers, and steam lines. The marine industry relies on their anti-corrosive nature for ship systems, offshore drilling rigs, and desalination units.

FAQs – Nickel Alloy Forged Fittings

While Nickel 201 (UNS N02201) has less carbon (<0.02%) to avoid graphitisation at high temperatures Nickel Alloy 200 (UNS N02200) has ≥99.5% pure nickel.

We supply Class 2000, 3000, 6000 and 9000 lbs forged fittings to suit diverse pressure conditions.

Yes. According to customer drawings, Midland Alloys provides full customization, including threading, socket welding, special schedules, and end preparation.

Because of its lower carbon content Nickel 201 is appropriate for applications up to 649°C while Nickel Alloy 200 can tolerate temperatures as high as 315°C.

Dimensional inspection, material traceability, hardness testing and PMI analysis are among the stringent quality checks that are performed on every batch. We also provide third-party inspection upon request.

While Nickel 201 is utilized in electronic and thermal equipment where low carbon content is crucial Nickel Alloy 200 is favored in structural and mechanical applications.
