Difference Between Inconel Tubes vs Hastelloy Tubes

Inconel Tubes are nickel-chromium alloys with high resistance to oxidation and temperature, which fit the applications in extreme heat such as jet engines and heat exchangers. Hastelloy Tubes, on the other hand, are nickel-molybdenum or nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloys designed for excellent resistance to reducing agents, including hydrochloric and sulfuric acids. While Inconel performs better in high-temperature oxidation environments, Hastelloy is preferred in highly corrosive chemical processing. The choice depends on the operating environment oxidizing heat for Inconel, reducing acids for Hastelloy.

Applications of Inconel Tubes

Inconel Tubes are extensively used in various industries, where harsh conditions require reliable performance. As these pipes are resistant to heat, and pressure, these tubes are utilized in jet engines, turbine blades and exhaust ducts in the aerospace sector. They are utilized for reactor cores and steam generators in power plants, particularly nuclear and thermal ones. The oil and gas sector uses Inconel Tubes for high-pressure and sour gas environments like offshore platforms and downhole tubing. Inconel Heat Exchanger Tubes and ASTM B163 Inconel Alloy Electropolished Tubes are key in chemical processing, where corrosion and thermal cycling are common. They are also used in marine applications, including seawater piping and propulsion systems. Industries working with high-purity gases or medical-grade fluids rely on Inconel Gas Tube AR 15 and Incoloy Capillary Tubes. Their reliability makes them suitable for both structural, and fluid-carrying applications under extreme conditions.
