Benefits of Nickel Alloy 201 Tubes
Nickel Alloy 201 Tubes deliver outstanding performance in demanding conditions. Their unique chemical makeup makes them suitable for corrosive and high-temperature environments.
- High Resistance to Corrosion
Nickel Alloy 201 is resistant to corrosion in acidic, as well as alkaline conditions such as caustic soda, and acids. It is stable even in harsh chemical processing conditions.
- High Strength and Durability
The alloy has superior mechanical strength as it can withstand stress without deforming. It maintains its structure and performance even at higher temperatures.
- Weldability
Nickel 201 is soft and weldable and can be fabricated with standard processes. It does not crack or lose strength when welding or after welding, which makes it suitable for intricate assemblies.
- Cost-effective and Easy to Maintain
With long lifespan and low requirement for maintenance, Nickel 201 lowers maintenance expenses in the long run. Its stability in harsh environments adds to its value.
- Versatility
This alloy is used in a wide range of industries like chemical processing, marine and food handling. Its purity, and strength make it suitable for many demanding applications.
- High-Temperature Performance
Nickel 201 performs efficiently at temperatures up to 1200°F (649°C). It is resistant to scaling and structural degradation under high-heat conditions.

Difference Between Nickel Alloy 201 Tubes and Nickel Alloy 200 Tubes
Nickel Alloy 200 and Nickel Alloy 201 are both commercially pure nickel, but the main difference is in carbon content. Nickel 201 has a maximum of 0.02% carbon, whereas Nickel 200 contains a maximum of 0.15% carbon. This reduced carbon content enhances graphitization resistance and renders Nickel 201 more suitable for service at temperatures above 315°C. Although the two alloys possess comparable corrosion resistance, and mechanical properties, Nickel 201 is superior in environments with high temperatures environments and applications involving caustic alkalis. While Nickel 201 is preferred for thermal stability and control in heat-intensive processes, Nickel 200 is often selected for general corrosion-resistant applications. UNS N02201 and UNS N02200 Pipes are used for their respective applications.

Applications of Nickel Alloy 201 Tubes
In chemical processing industries where product purity is crucial, such as in the handling of caustic soda, salt production, and food manufacturing, nickel alloy 201 tubes are widely used. They are ideal for heat exchangers, evaporators and process piping in alkali production, marine environments, and electronic parts. These tubes are also used in aerospace components, power generation systems, and reactors where temperature and corrosion control are essential. Because of their low carbon content and thermal stability, they are also applied in equipment exposed to high temperatures and reducing conditions.

FAQS
With a yield strength of roughly 45 MPa (6.5 ksi), the nickel 201 can tolerate moderate stress before permanently deforming. Due to this, it can be used in applications, with moderate temperatures and low pressure.
Nickel is ferromagnetic in nature, so it can be magnetized and hold magnetic properties. It is usually alloyed with iron to produce hard and durable permanent magnets.
Gold and silver that are pure do not have nickel in them. Nickel is occasionally added to white gold alloys for increased hardness, and a silvery appearance, particularly to use in jewelry.
